Owner / Director McLean (Maca) first started as an apprentice in a little family workshop in Forestville (on Sydney's Northern Beaches) working his way from the floor right up to the office. Helping to grow the business from a two-hoist workshop into a six hoist six bay giant. Working together with management, he helped start & maintain the garage as one of the most reputable Subaru Specialist workshops on the Northern Beaches, then in the later years aiding in the expansion for the shops potential by added a full tyre & alignment section. Working especially on Subaru Diagnostics & faults, he became a custom to what needed to be done to get to fix problem.

The name "DFR" has been around since 2005 (mainly doing after hours work for friends and family), but the time was right for Maca to go out and start his own shop in Hornsby at the beginning of 2015. Now DFR Automotive (Subaru Specialist) is in its 6th year of trading, growing its Subaru customer base, ever expanding its services & still going strong.​

Having moved into a new larger premises midway through 2020, the shop is now fully equipped to handle everything in house for you & your Subaru. Already having tyre fitting & balancing facilities, DFR Automotive (Subaru Specialist) also have a 3D wheel alignment machine which lets us cover everything your car needs to make it safe & reliable on the road.
